Pauntley School is situated in the beautiful Forest Of Dean. There are approximately 50 students on roll, organised into two multiage classes. The school has grown to capacity through the recommendation of its parents and Friends. Here are some of the reasons why:
The school has an excellent record of achievement with students of all abilities.
The school is noted for working in partnership with parents.
The school has, since 1998, run a ‘Multiage’ programme that is internationally recognised for its effectiveness. In the last academic year, for example, teachers came from Zurich to study our policies

Healthy Schools Award.
DfES ‘Activemark’ Excellence Award.
British Council ‘International School’ Award – Intermediate.
The curriculum breadth demonstrated by these awards counter a commonly-held misconception that small schools cannot deliver the National Curriculum. Pauntley’s involvement with the International Baccalaureate Organisation and its commitment to the Primary Years Programme Pauntley School is well supported by its community. Comparative data from the DfES Financial Benchmarking Site demonstrates the funds raised by this school’s supporters put the school at the top of the league … by thousands of pounds. This is not the sole indicator; volunteers run the school meals service and the three sports clubs, for example.
